December 2011 - We have been busy working on a new interactive game for The Royal Collection to go with its current exhibition "The Heart of the Great Alone. Scott, Shackleton & Antarctic Photography"

This exhibition of remarkable photographs taken in Antarctica by Herbert George Ponting and Frank Hurley marks the 100th anniversary of Captain Scott’s ill-fated journey to the South Pole.

The game is aimed at life long learners to help engage the user in conjunction with the photographs of Frank Hurley that follow Ernest Shackleton's epic journey on the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, 1914–17. Disaster struck this expedition when its ship, Endurance, was trapped in pack ice and slowly crushed, before the shore parties could be landed. There followed a sequence of exploits, and an ultimate escape with no lives lost, that would eventually assure Shackleton's heroic status.
