Pop it in the Post

The Postal Museum

The recent anniversary celebrating the Penny Black Stamp prompted the Postal Museum to develop a collection of educational resources to support the story of the postage stamp in the 19th Century. We worked alongside children’s illustrator Sophie Foster to create the ‘Pop it in the Post’ learning interactive designed to work especially well on tablet devices. The user is taken on learning journey from the start of the postage system where the recipient had to pay for the postage up to the introduction of the penny post and the penny black stamp – finding out all about Rowland Hill along the way.

The ‘Pop it in the Post’ interactive has been designed with Key Stage 2 students in mind but is equally suitable for families or older learners.
