We were commissioned by the Biggin Hill Memorial Museum to produce a set of three school visit packages which will be used by facilitators leading the sessions within an education space at the memorial chapel. The packages consist of lesson plans, background information, curriculum links and delivery information.
The packs were designed to be entirely self-explanatory so they can be picked up, at potentially short notice by a new member of museum staff, with the quality of delivery still being assured.
The resources have been created with a focus on the lives and stories of the people who served at Biggin Hill, Britain’s most famous fighter station, and the community who supported them. They also emphasise the role Biggin Hill played in technical innovation that shapes our world today.
The titles of the three packages were:
- KS2 Biggin Hill during the Battle of Britain
- KS2 The Second World War through the Eyes of Biggin Hill Children
- KS3 Engineering the Battle of Britain
